About the Role

This is a technical and customer-facing role focused on customer and partner data integration, data process development and helping to lead the data strategy for Nexgen.  This role reports to the Vice President of Business Development and Partnerships and contributes to the success of Nexgen’s data and analytics strategy. A strong candidate will be expected to partner with Business Analysts and technical support teams to assess key business requirements, provide solutions to data challenges, set the customer data strategy and organize documentation (and remain disciplined in keeping it up to date).  This role uses our Boomi IPAAS tool to collect, process, analyze, and visualize data from various sources. You will directly help the organization drive revenue and make better business decisions by providing insights and recommendations based on data.

 

Responsibilities

Lead customer data onboarding projects through the development lifecycle:

  • Discovery – Partner with key stakeholders to gather and analyze customer data and business rules to translate into technical solutions documents.
  • Design – Determine development requirements for integrating customer data to Nexgen’s online Order Management application that align with stated business goals.
    • Lead solution architect in the Boomi ETL iPaas platform that handles data transformation, error handling, security and performance optimization.
  • Connection – Establish the data connection with the customers by partnering with the infrastructure and security team to ensure industry best practices (FTP, sFTP, EDI/x12 AS2, API,etc)
  • Development – Lead the design and development of both standard and custom data integration processes within the Boomi ETL iPaas Platform. Integrate customer data to Nexgen repositories, ensuring the quality and consistency of data is always maintained.
  • Deployment – Deploy completed developments in coordination with all internal and external teams, on time.
  • Support – Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the integration processes by identifying root cases and implementing corrective actions. Provide support to existing customers and internal cross-functional teams as needed.

 

Lead the design and development of Analytics and Business Intelligence initiatives

  • Developing, maintaining, and managing advanced reporting, analytics, dashboards and other BI solutions
  • Performing and documenting data analysis, data validation, and data mapping/design
  • Reviewing and improving existing systems and collaborating with teams to integrate new systems
  • Conducting unit tests and developing database queries to analyze the effects and troubleshoot any issues
  • Creating tools to store data within the organization

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT/MIS, or 6+ years of experience in a related data field
  • Retail ERP integration experience is a preferable but not required
  • Experience developing data integrations using ETL tools like Boomi, Mulesoft, Informatica, etc. (Boomi preferred)
  • Relevant certifications in Dell Boomi or related integration software is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of common system integration methods and technologies including Web services, SOAP, JSON, XML Schema Definition (XSD), Extensible Markup Language (XML), Business process automation and orchestration tools and software
  • Experience in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud is a plus
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Strong project planning/coordination capabilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a desire to engage with end customers and users
  • Knowledge of key concepts of SQL databases, relational database modeling and data integration patterns
  • In depth experience in Excel (macros, pivot tables, etc.) and other data types
